Oil Operations & Demurrage Conference 12th & 13th May 2022

HubSE Demurrage (Hub Software Engineering Ltd) together with Pequod Associates Ltd and Minton, Treharne & Davies Group are proud to announce their inaugural London Conference.

We’ve all been locked up for too long and it’s now time to reconnect with your industry colleagues face to face.  The conference takes place in Richmond upon Thames, a great location where you’re in London but you can take advantage of the many parks and gardens or enjoy a walk along the Thames.

You can see the Seminar-Brochure here and you will hear from leading industry experts with plenty of time for discussions, Q&As and networking.

The conference kicks off with Sean O’Sullivan QC and Clementine Makower looking at what charterers get for their money.  I’m looking forward to this session – what’s included in the demurrage and freight rates?  We’ve had the case of The Eternal Bliss which I believe has brought some clarity but we’re now seeing additional clauses in charter parties seeking to include costs not covered by Worldscale.  Also, the age-old problem of interim port clauses and, for example, does this include bunkers?

Other speakers will cover Covid Delays, the Role of the Oil Operator, US issues, Cargo Contamination or not, Environmental Issues, Addition War Risk Premium and Trading Company internal communications.

I’m still formulating my session on Today’s Wrangles and Arguments.  I have a few ideas on this but if you have a burning issue let me know and I’ll see if I can weave it somewhere.  So far, I have

  • Who pays for delays after hoses off such as outward clearance, bad weather, tugs and/or pilots
  •          FOB plus Freight is not an INCO term – discuss
  •          Address Commission in contractual demurrage

I’m really looking forward to the conference and meeting up with as many of you that can come along.
